Mallards Landing was conceived in 1973 by its founders over 37 years ago using lands that the Stringer family, who have lived and worked in the Syracuse area for some six generations, had acquired during the 1950s through 1970s, In the mid 1970s, David Stringer developed trusting relationships with the Town of Manlius to create the long range vision that now provides the setting and environment for many of families who have chosen Mallards Landing as their home. This vision also assisted the Town of Manlius for establishing the future architectural/subdivision standards for lands in the Route 92 corridor of Manlius.
Mallard Landing was based upon a focus of developing one of the best residential communities in Central New York. David Stringer believed that to be successful in any business you must have An Idea, A Plan, and A Commitment . He and his brother, Andy, and a team of dedicated architects, engineers and land planners developed this concept and focused their energies to create a community that would set the standard in Central New York. Their daily focus and commitment over the good and difficult economic cycles has never altered or been sacrificed. The Stringers intent was not to be all things to all people. It was to create a community for people who wanted to be a part of their vision.
Mallards Landing was founded nearly 40 years ago on land controlled and developed by David and Andy Stringer. The Stringer's long-term vision was to create a community where residents could live comfortably in refined surroundings close to schools, health care, stores, restaurants, banks and churches. Today, with its individually designed homes, spectacular scenery and large wooded lots, Mallards Landing is Central New York's premier neighborhood.
